Famos for Family
With the "FAMOS for Family" award, RWTH Aachen University honors managers at the university for their family-friendly personnel work.Employees nominate individuals for this award, and a jury decides who receives it. Currently, the award winners of 2020 and 2021 were invited to the 14th award ceremony, which took place digitally. RWTH Chancellor Manfred Nettekoven praised their commitment, with which they contribute to RWTH remaining an attractive employer for excellent specialists. Professor Doris Klee, Prorector for Human Resources and Young Academics, congratulated the honorees, who received a certificate and 500 euros for a team activity.The "FAMOS for Family" award for 2020 was presented six times. It went to Professor Carsten Bolm of the Institute of Organic Chemistry, Professor Thomas Gries, head of the Institute of Textile Technology, and Professor Cordula Neiberger, who oversees the teaching and research area of economic geography of services. Professor Axel Preuße, holder of the Chair of Mine Surveying, Mining Damage Science and Geophysics in Mining, Professor Dirk Uwe Sauer of the Institute of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives, and Professor Michael Vorländer, holder of the Chair of Technical Acoustics, are also among the honorees."FAMOS for Family" in 2021 are also six leaders. Professor Elisabeth Clausen of the Institute of Advanced Mining Technologies, Rene M. Königs, assistant professor of Organic Chemistry, and Professor Walter Richtering, holder of the Chair of Physical Chemistry II, were honored. Professor Rolf Rossaint from the Chair of Anesthesiology, Stephanie Vanderheijden, Managing Director in the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Professor Jeremy Witzens, holder of the Chair of Integrated Photonics, are also pleased with the award.
